I can’t even believe it, but today is My Styled Life’s third blogiversary (aka blog anniversary). I started this blog three years ago having no idea where it would take me and let me tell you…it has been an amazing ride so far…
If you had told me when I started MSL that I would eventually be working with brands such as Pantene, Olay and Erin Condren, I wouldn’t have believed it. I truly am in awe of the community you have helped me create! When I first started my YouTube channel after high school, which eventually led to my blog, I had no idea what I was doing. I just felt inclined to share beauty and fashion tips and didn’t have any fear of putting myself out there.
However, a few months in, I discovered that people from high school were making fun of me on Twitter for starting a YouTube channel. The crazy part is that it was people I wasn’t even friends with, people I didn’t even know that well. I remember feeling discouraged as I read their tweets. That day I made the decision that I wasn’t going to let these people crush my dreams. In fact, this criticism motivated me to work even harder. Let’s just say I’m so glad I took the high road because this blog has given me so many amazing opportunities.
The point of why I’m telling you this is that if there’s been something you’ve been wanting to do for a long time, but haven’t done yet…DO IT! You’ll never know how things will turn out until you try. Sure, people may make some rude remarks, but that just means those people aren’t worth associating yourself with.
My Styled Life truly changed my life for the better! I’m so glad that I didn’t let mean comments stop me from doing what makes me happy. Whether you keep up with me on Instagram, are a consistent blog reader, or both, I am so thankful for you! As a result of your support, I am able to do what I love!
