The first week of Spring is almost here! Since I know many of you are so excited for that (I myself am torn – I really do love Winter), I wanted to provide some Winter-to-Spring transition outfit inspiration! The challenge is that even when it is officially Spring, the weather is likely to still be chilly some days. As a result, I like to combine pieces from both my Winter and Spring wardrobe to create the perfect transitional look.
Today I’m sharing some styling tips so that you too can do just that!
Stick with Neutrals
Lighter colors always scream Spring to me. Ditch the reds, dark blues, and hunter greens for more neutral shades like beige, white, and blush. I tend to rock neutrals all year because I’m neutral obsessed, but I make an extra effort to pull them all out for Spring. You can also go with pastels, but I tend to reach for those later in the Spring season when the weather begins to warm up.
Keep Winter Sweaters Handy
Like I said, the beginning of Spring is generally pretty cold. While you want to look cute, shivering isn’t cute so why not wear one of your neutral Winter sweaters! I bought this one back in early January and it is SO cozy – I seriously never want to take it off. I love that it’s oversized which allows me to put a long sleeve top under it for chilly Spring days.
White Pants are a MUST
While it’s totally acceptable to wear white pants after Labor Day, I still love them most during Spring and Summer. They are so fresh and clean looking – perfect for the season of new beginnings! I highly encourage you to invest in a nice pair of white pants. I’ve had mine for five years and while initially expensive, they were so worth it.
Find the Perfect Wedges
I may or may not be including this tip just so I can talk all about these wedges! Just kidding! I honestly think that adding wedges to a look like this one makes it clear that you’re ready for Spring. The cozy sweater and pants will keep you warm enough so that your feet can say bye to boots and hello to these taupe wedges.
My wedges are what I call double dupes! You’ve probably seen other bloggers raving about the Marc Fisher dupe for the Chloe espadrille wedges, but in my opinion these pretty shoes are dupes for the Marc Fisher ones! I really debated about buying the Marc Fisher ones ($160), but when I found these ones in taupe, cognac and black for just under $60 there was no question – I was buying the affordable ones! Plus, you could get all three colors for just over the price of one of the Marc Fisher pairs. The decision seems obvious!
Just combine all these tips together and you will have an outfit that is perfect for this transition period.
