Whether you’re going on a weekend getaway or a day trip to Palm Springs, deciding what to wear can be difficult. Your outfit needs to be cute in case you find the perfect photo spot — endless of these in Palm Springs — but cool enough so you’re not suffering in the heat.
When I visited a few weekends ago, I brought numerous outfits, but this black floral dress was my favorite! It’s from Shop the Mint and actually called the “What It’s Like Maxi Dress“! When I saw it online, I knew I needed it and well, it’s even prettier in person! The floral print is so beautiful and detailed!
The off-the-shoulder ruffle detail makes it very vacation appropriate and it pairs well with sandals or wedges. The dress features a black layer of fabric under it in the bottom half until about mid-thigh and is sheer from that point down. This meant I did not get too hot in the sun! I can go on and on about this dress, but let me tell you…just order it!
For reference, I’m wearing a size Medium. I sized up because the material has no stretch and given that my shoulders are a little broader, I did not want the off-the-shoulder part to be too tight. This ended up being my perfect size! I rarely have an issue determining the right size clothes to order from Shop the Mint because they are very thorough in listing out all item dimensions and the height of the model in the images. This helps me determine if I need to size up for the length. Tall girl problems 😉
