It seems like when we think of “statement” outfits they usually involve very bold pieces that you normally wouldn’t think to put together. However, I think that a very simple outfit can also make a statement! By pairing solid-color closet staples together, you can create a classic look.
I found this gray cardigan (also comes in rose and green) on the sale rack at Anthropologie and immediately fell in love with it! It is so soft and feminine! Unfortunately it sold out online, but I still listed the link below because the past few days it has come back in stock and then sold out again. Also, there are a ton of them in stores!! I love to pair a cardigan like this one with a plain thermal top and dainty necklace.
Since I was keeping it simple, I wore dark wash jeans – though light wash would make the look even more casual and cute. These jeans are so comfortable and flattering so if you’re looking for a new pair of skinny jeans I highly recommend them! I then added black booties to the outfit, but if heeled shoes aren’t your thing, go for a flat bootie or even a pair of ballet flats. This look would be totally appropriate for a casual date or grabbing dinner with girl friends!
